x jeffwith1f people that work in Guitar stores are usually idiots. I think it's a requirement of getting the job.

I had the Boss Phaser at one point. very fun pedal. more extreme than a Flanger. that and I like the colour green (not that that has anything to do with anything)

Boss pedels. good stuff.

for real fun, if you can find one...get a Delay/Pitch-Shifter. They stopped making them several years ago, but you can still find them used. ($200, give or take...I know...alot for a Boss pedel) and you can get some really really weird ass sounds out of them....

There is also a company called ZVex out there that is making a line of hand-made pedels that make some very very odd sounds indeed. (or so I've read)

x zer0G This is what I want to get next...

Electro Harmonix Frequency Analyzer
http://www.ehx.com/ehx2/Default.asp?q=f&f=/Catalog/24_Synthesis/14_Frequency_Analyzer

It's basically a Ring Modulator, the least used of effects. The Moog Ring Modualtor is another option.

Other than that some kind of delay unit, and thats it for my rig.

Then I have to make some kind of portable table top pedal board for it all.

Here is it's home page. It's kind of limited.
http://www.zvex.com/junky.html

I was thinking more along the lines of a digital delay.

Something as simple as the Boss DD-6 Digital Delay would be fine I think.

x jeffwith1f The moog stuff looks really cool
Plus I believe that they are running a promotion at the moment, stating that if you don't think that the moogerfooger pedal of your choice is not the coolest sounding effect on the market, you can return it for the full purchase price, plus get a T-shirt with the slogan "I'm an Idiot" on it (in moog font, of course)

I want that shirt.

will look into details more closely.....

x zer0G I tried out the "Electro-Harmonix Micro Synthesizer" Pedal, but I can't say I liked it. It's too analog for my tastes and too guitar orientated. Plus it's outrageously expensive. ($340 cnd!)

x Universal Sea for the cost of 2 ipods and that charging docking mixer you could obtain real decks and a real mixer. however, no more wasting money on records, and you can plug in your ipod while you face off against somebody else's ipod.

x jeffwith1f that's the cool bit. assuming 20GB ipods you could have 5000-6000 songs at your disposal on each iPod. one would no longer have to cart around albums, which I would imagine is the heaviest part of this equipment.

granted it would seem that many DJ's seem to spin of laptops and digital files anyways, so perhaps it's a moot point.

neato piece of swag though. and another in a line of cool iPod accessories.

I now have the Behringer TWEAKALIZER DFX69
http://www.behringer.com/DFX69/index.cfm?lang=ENG

I paid $195.00 cnd for it, that includes tax.

That is the same price as some typical pedals.

It took about a day to really get the hang of what it can do as the unit is easy to underestimate at first glance.

Simply put it's nuts once you get it going! You can do some really amazing things with it. It's very addictive to use also. The filter would be the strong point. Really there is too much to explain.

On a purely superficial level the thing looks pretty cool with the lights off.

x Universal Sea you can build your own projector for a couple hundred bucks out of an LCD monitor and some other stuff my old friend Cris was learning about.

screen, you can project onto a wall of where you're at, or through the crowd, or get one of those cool new portable roll up screens for another hundred or so.

if you could combine your audio and video on the same machine where music and beats trigger layers of visual effects to the tempo you'd be a one-stop party machine. you'd need a portable bar as well, then you wouldnt even need a club.
