x jeffwith1f I dunno what's going on, but for the last couple of weeks, our connection has been very flakey. It's been working, but only, it seems, in short bursts after resetting all the devices involved, and then it grids to the halt. it seems I have time to boot up, check my inbox and get one and make maybe 1 post, then the next page I lode quites half-way.

our service provider suggested that our telephone line needs a double filter, which we've hooked up.

things do seem snappier, but still, connection seems to die every now and again.

this seems to be a problem more obvious after we've had heavy downloading sessions.

total drag. I've become quite dependent on the internet. Perhaps this is for the best. it's a forced weening.

x jeffwith1f happened again last night as soon as I "posted" that posting. I did not know if it went up or not.

I periodically scan and check my computer for spyware.
it's getting harder to do, as I can't get a recent update as I am rarely on linie that long.

I suspect that we're used up our allotment of downloads for the period with our service provider, but everyone seems to think I'm on crack when I mention it. I seem to recall their being limits.

x Jess It's possible. Some providers will knock you down to dialup speed if you go over your limit. You could call customer service to find out.

It's also possible that they've changed their bandwidth policies and you might have missed the notification. Who are you using?

x Jess I think sympatico did away with their bandwidth caps quite a while ago. It could be something on the machine itself, then.

x Jess Ah the modem! Of course...

Yes a disneyblog would be great but don't feel like you have to. A vacation is time away from the internet imo..

And I sort of know how you. Our connection was down all day. Probably something wrong with the Kingston router. Bastards...

x jeffwith1f the new modem seems to have fixed it a treat.
yes, there was no time or way to get me online while away
it was tireing, but expect a series of writings on the journey as well as posting of some of the over 200 pics I shot.

my photo project this trip was to try and get shots of "hidden" mickeys (these are profiles of mickey that have been worked into the architechture and design features)

there are over 500 scattered around the parks, I managed to get shots of about 50...more on this later.

we're back.

it's nice to be home.

x Das Behaelter Check with the phone company and see if you have an MTU chip installed. They were used by the phone company to ping broken lines. The frequency tends to be in the same SIN as a DSL connection and can cause intermittent or erratic behavior. If you don't have DSL then ignore my last. It's just a thought. I had that trouble at my old/new house, when I lived in California.
