x zer0G I will post a pic of it when I am finished.

I have decided to skip the Ring Modulator. Its too bulky (5lbs) for my rig.

Basically I am adding a Boss DD3 digital delay instead to allow me to create sonic textures. I can mix from a very dry tracktor mix to a washed out ambient mix very quickly. Plus I also can easily have someone MC with the mixer mic inputs. Im also using two sets of headphones. One set to monitor the laptop DJ beat matching, the other to monitor the DJ effects loop, so I can set up effects, beat match them, then add them to the overall mix. Seeing as though there is not much to do here Ive been focusing on my gah DJ skillz. One hour set coming up. Kid with a new toy. Word.

Im going to start DJing from sheer boredom. Think Im moving back to Toronto maybe. Getting shot would be more interesting than where I am now.

x zer0G Thinking about getting the Boss DD-20 Digital Delay as the final thing in my rig as it has 23 sec of sample / delay time and does some other interesting things. The routing scheme of everything is too complicated to describe. Im basically using two sets of headphones. There is a fair amount of creative potential, I can pretty much take any loop from Tracktor and rework it in real time into anything else by cueing not only the looped track a la beat matching, but I can also cue up the effects, then add everything to the mix via the mixer. It will be like I have 3 sound sources to work with 1) Tracktor 2) Beringer fx unit 3) Boss DD-20. I can scale back to a very hard dry sound or go to a full ambient was very quickly. Plus create some rather odd polyrhythmic atonal things.

Ended up getting a Digitech delay of all things. Not sure most guitarists would like it as it has a very sterile metallic sound. However for my use it is most excellent! Very musical for techno style music. So basically my rig is done (for now)

The cable routing is nuts, I am also using a 3 way switch box from Circuit City (normally used to switch multiple video inputs) to use one set of headphones and monitor multiple outs, so I can set effects / loops on the fly, then mix them in live. Basically beat matching the delay and sampler. I consider the whole rig to be an instrument, I just need to think of a name for it.

Gah@! Now I need to find some way to put it all in a road case of some kind.

x jeffwith1f I Used a Digitech rackmount system as the backbone of my tone for what some would say is far too long. I really liked it's delays that were on offer.

x zer0G Ugh been really busy.

I have started to play around with Reason a lot more. My final issue now is how to record my DJ set(s) or production stuff as I am going out of my laptop and into mixer/fx etc. in the analog realm. Likely I will get a second cheap laptop for recording.

I need to start putting out some material. Plus I can do (I think) some pretty cool stuff live now.

I really have fuck-all to do but make music these days as I have been a hermit of sorts.

x zer0G Oh shit I just decided to sell off all my gear aside from a laptop Bahahahaahaha!!!!
Fuck it! I am going all digital, I am so fucked but I want only a laptop period, thats it. Im doing everything in software. Yes I am a tool, but I did not really buy too much gear.

Well really I no longer have the car so I do not want to haul stuff around and want to be able to take it on any bus or plane or train etc.
