x zer0G Working with Reason, read the whole manual. Once you dig into the program and avoid Quantizing and the reverb/delays it is a excellent program. Also I have a better handle on the live performance aspects. You 100% need a keyboard and a controller to work with it properly though.

x zer0G I’ve downloaded the demo a few times and tried it, but it never really appealed to me. Maybe I need to learn it better?

What I have now is more than enough. I can get around Reason not being able to record vocals by importing vocals as samples, which is fine for the type of music I do, which is mostly electronica. I should have some stuff up soon, but I keep falling asleep after work and nobody here wants to hear the DJ stuff I do now.

I’m also using a Behringer U-Control UCA202 USB/Audio Interface for A/D conversion with my laptop. For the price and size of it, the sound and input conversion is really good. Good enough for my uses anyhow.

The only thing I may add now is a mic. MXL seems to make the only good USB mic on the market.

Anyways my entire music workstation, DJ kit, “studio” or whatever you want to call it basically fits into an average knapsack and pretty much does whatever I want.

Now I just need to move to a populated area so I have someplace to play.
